IMPORTANT NOTE: Please use the same email address as was used for submitting your abstract (and if you have not chosen any password so far, use the "retrieve password" function to receive an automatically-generated temporary password that you will then be able to change while updating your “profile” information).

REGISTRATION FEES

ISHPSSB members get a discount when registering to the conference. To benefit from this discount, you must be an ISHPSSB member in good standing at the time of the conference (membership status will be checked at the Conference registration desk). Be sure to join ISHPSSB or update your membership before registering. You may do so through the ISHPSSB membership page.

To benefit from the special reduced rate offered to students and post-doctoral fellows, students will be required, in addition, to show proof of their student status at the Conference registration desk (e.g. student card or proof of academic enrolment); post-doctoral fellows will need to show an endorsement by the fellow's hosting institution.

Persons who just wish to attend some sessions without taking an active part in the program (that is to say persons who do not present a paper or a poster, nor participate in organized sessions, but simply wish to listen to some communications) can register as “Visitors”. This status grants access to the conference rooms as well as to the coffee breaks.

Registration includes a conference package with a personal badge and a hard copy of the program. Hard copies of the book of abstracts must be ordered separately while filling in the registration form and at a price of CAD $10 (note that both the program and the book of abstracts will be available on-line via ISHPSSB 2015 website; hard copies of the book of abstracts will also be sold on the conference premises at a price of CAD $20 payable in cash only).

BUFFET DINNER (“COCKTAIL DÎNATOIRE”)

The main festive event of the conference will be a buffet dinner organized on the evening of Thursday, July 9th, 2015 at the Salon Urbain, Place des Arts. This amazing place is situated right downtown Montréal, at walking distance from UQAM and from all recommended hotels and student residencies (site the Google map here).

Price of the buffet dinner is CAD $49. Student ISHPSSB members get a discounted price of CAD $29. Please note that, due to the limited capacity of the venue, bookings will be made on a first-come first-serve basis.

STUDENT EVENTS

Early Career Scholar Mentoring Lunch - Tuesday, 7 July

This lunch meeting will give students a chance to meet with established scholars to get advice and feedback on topics topics such as navigating the job market, interdisciplinary publishing, collaborations between the life sciences and its history and philosophy, being a minority in the field, alternative careers, etc. More details about the available mentors and format will follow as the conference approaches. NOTE: The lunch is scheduled during part of the lunch break, so it will not overlap with scheduled sessions.

Graduate Student Member General Meeting - Wednesday, 8 July

We will circulate a more detailed agenda closer to the time. For now, we should mention that one important order of business will be electing our 2015-2017 Graduate Representative. CONFERENCE T-SHIRT

The official ISHPSSB 2015 conference T-shirt will be available at a pre-order cost of CAD $9 (the T-shirt will also be sold on the conference premises at a cost of CAD $20 payable in cash only). You can book yours when registering for the conference.

HOTEL RESERVATION

The registration fees do not include accommodation. Please make your hotel reservation as soon as possible if you want to secure a room within walking distance of the university. Montréal is a major tourist and business destination and July is a PEAK HOLIDAY SEASON. A large number of rooms have been blocked for the Conference but the majority of them are guaranteed only until the end of May 2015. For suggestions for accommodation, please look here.

PASSPORT AND VISA

To visit Canada, you must have a valid passport and citizens from certain countries and territories need a visa. Read more here.

The invitation letter will only be issued once registration and payment are complete. The letter does not constitute any financial commitment on the part of the ISHPSSB 2015.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If a cancellation request is received in writing (email) before June 1, 2015 (11:59pm EST), registration fees will be refunded, minus an administrative charge of CAD $50. The ISHPSSB 2015 Local Organizing Committee accepts no liability for any injuries/losses incurred by participants and/or accompanying persons, nor loss of, or damage to, any luggage and/or personal belongings.
